The Playground Project is moving along at full speed! The Committee continues to work on fundraisers to make this dream a reality.
Some parents have asked some specific questions regarding the Playground Project. To ensure we are communicating to the entire community, we will be posting a Q&A in our eNewsletter to address one question per month.
Q. Is fundraising for the playground taking away from other important School Council initiatives for our children?
A. School Council has many goals and funds many different projects. The playground is one of these goals. School Council has added fundraisers dedicated to raising funds for the proposed play structure (Fun Fair Fantastique and Silent Auction in June 2011, and QSP magazine fundraiser in November 2011). In addition, the playground committee is working to obtain corporate donations and grant money toward the project. Grants, corporate donations and personal donations directed to the playground project cannot be used for other purposes. School Council, with the support of a large number of wonderful volunteers, continues to work toward achieving all of our goals.

The purpose of School Council is to work with administration to help set the direction of the school to build a healthy learning environment where our students are happy and thriving. At the November meeting, our school's administration provided us with their wish list of items. In our December meeting, we will be firming up our goals to ensure we are on track to help our students achieve their full potential.
