This committee is responsible for developing and implementing the École Forest Trail parent engagement strategy. 

The strategy will consist of both short and long term goals to facilitate meaningful parent engagement and will be reviewed each year and adjusted based on school council and parent community requirements.

P.E.P. Committee Roles

Chair (10 hours/month):
- Co-ordinate monthly meetings
- With input from committee members set strategic direction for programs/events/services
- Set agenda
- Establish secretary to take minutes
- Establish yearly calendar
- Report to Council and liaise with administration

Committee Members (2-6 hours/month minimum):
- Meet monthly to map out events for year and make major decisions
- Set the year’s calendar of PEP events
- Research opportunities for our parents/school community
- Create the proposals to be presented at Council
- Identify a Co-ordinator or lead for different events and provide them with direction and support

Movie Night Co-ordinator (7 hours/ 3 movie nights minimum):
- Co-ordinate the advertising of event, processing of orders, food, movie and volunteers for the actual night (there is a check-list to follow)

Education Evening Co-ordinator (3-7 hours/event minimum):
- Co-ordinate the advertising of event, and registration (is a template/checklist to follow)
- Liaise with the Speaker/Facilitator and the school administration, caretakers, Librarian to facilitate event

Specialty Classes Co-ordinator (5 – 7 hours minimum):
- Co-ordinate the advertising and registration for the event
- Liaise between the organization (eg. Loblaws Cooking School), committee and school

Day-time volunteer opportunities (on-going, as fits into your schedule):
- Work often done in pairs
- Not required to attend meetings
- Creating and photocopying flyers
- Processing orders (eg. Movie nights and specialty classes)
- Tracking registration for events
- Need several people in this role to call on for events throughout the year
