Tasty Tuesday Begins October 11th

Tasty Tuesdays / Miam Mardi starts October 11th!

Every TUESDAY during first nutrition break your child will be able to purchase their lunch at school.   We are pleased to announce that Panago Pizza will be providing pizza for Tasty Tuesdays again this year.  

Tasty Tuesdays is ÉFT's largest fundraiser. Last year, this program alone raised nearly $34,000 and those proceeds went to support wonderful educational activities and resources for our children.

We need your help!  Parent volunteers are crucial to the success of this fundraiser.  We need volunteers to serve pizza, drinks and dessert to our students. This is a wonderful opportunity to become active at Forest Trail and truly do something that makes a difference to your child's education with a relatively small time commitment. We need 35 volunteers every week to run Tasty Tuesdays. Please consider volunteering. 

Volunteer forms were sent home in backpack mail Tuesday September 13th and are due in the office by Tuesday, September 20th.  Printable volunteer forms are available here:  Volunteer at a station.    Volunteer in a portable.

Nutritional Guidelines: These Tasty Tuesday food items meet the new Ministry of Education nutritional guidelines “sell most” category.

We will be offering the following items:
- Cheese Pizza (each slice is 1/8th of a large pizza) for $2.00 per slice
- Fruit Juice (up to 250 ml) for $1.00 per drink
- Arthur's Smoothie (200 ml) $2.00 per smoothie
- Dessert (nut Free item ie: cookie) one per student for $1.00 per dessert

- NO PREORDERING IS REQUIRED, but exact change is appreciated! -

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Stations will be set up in various areas of the school. Your child’s class will be escorted to a station where they will make their choices and pay for their items.
  • A volunteer will bring lunch out to children in portables.
  • Your child will be responsible for making their own selections. Please discuss with them what they are allowed to buy with their money. Please ensure that your child understands how much money they have and which items they should purchase.
  • PLEASE send the exact amount of money! For example if your child would like 1 piece of pizza, a juice and dessert, please send in $4.  Making change slows the process and takes eating time away from our students.
  • If students do not have money on Tasty Tuesdays they will not be able to purchase lunch. No IOUs will be issued.
  • AND FINALLY…take a break from making a lunch on Tuesday!
