Here is a list of our events and fundraisers for the 2016/2017 school year.

ANNUAL SPRING GIVING EVENT!!
May 31, 2017
The Pay it Forward Committee is collecting for our Annual Spring Giving Event.
We are reaching out to our community for donations and ask that they be dropped off at Ecole Forest Trail on Wednesday, May 31st from 8AM to 9:30 AM. There will be a white tent at the front of the school. (No drop off accepted during bus drop off time 9 to 9:15)
This year we are focused on 2 initiatives:
1. Diaper Drive!!
Donations of new disposable diaper (any size) are welcome, however there is a great need for Size 6! These items will be collected and given to various charitable organizations in our area including Oakville Fair Share Food Bank.
2. Recess Equipment for our partner school in Brampton.
Once again, EFT School Council has embarked on a partnership with a school in Brampton whose students have great needs. The school's greenspace has very poor drainage and therefore all activities must be on blacktop only. They are in great need for any outdoor recess equipment that could also be used for outdoor class time.
We are accepting donation of the following new or gently used items:
sidewalk chalk, bouncy balls, 7' and 8' jump ropes, 16' double dutch ropes, basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, 12" cones, flying discs, throw down bases, scoop and balls, hula hoops, bicycles, scooters, etc.

Minishop
December 07, 2016
Forest Trail’s Holiday Minishop is taking place on Wednesday, December 7th. Please help us make the day run smoothly by doing the following:
-
On the day of Minishop, please send your child’s money to school in a labelled, reusable container. This will help us to return any lost or misplaced money to its rightful owner.
-
Gifts will range in price from $1 to $5 and each child can purchase a maximum of two gifts suitable for an adult. Therefore, no child should bring more than $10 to school for Holiday Minishop.
Loonies and Toonies would be appreciated.
Thank you for your assistance with this special day!

December 07, 2016
EFT School Council has embarked on a partnership with a school in Brampton. Our Pay It Forward Committee has reached out to a school with a large number of families in great need of warm winter wear for their students. That school has identified 23 families that would greatly appreciate our assistance. These families have children ranging in age from infants to Grade 5.
We are reaching out to our committee asking for gently used (or new) winter coats, snow suits and boots. We would appreciate all items be cleaned and ready to wear. Winter boots are needed in sizes 3 to 12 and coats / snowsuits in sizes 3 to 14. (A detailed list of the children in need is listed below). Also acceptable are new or very gently used warm items like sweaters or hoodies as well as PJ's.
These families are also in great need of President Choice grocery gift cards or Walmart gift cards. (These stores are within walking distance of the school community.) KSM Dinner
November 28, 2016
For the 3rd year, EFT's Pay it Forward Committee were delighted to host a dinner at Kerr Street Mission for approximately 70 local neighbours.
KSM, located at 485 Kerr St., Oakville, seeks to understand the struggle of poverty and is committed to coming alongside families and individuals to provide help for the present and hope for the future.
On Monday, November 28th, diners were treated to a gourmet meal created by our own chef Irene Matys and her dedicated crew of parent volunteers. Making this event possible were many donations from our community:
- "Plan B" donated all the fruits and vegetables,
- "Monastery Bakery" donated the bread,
- "Longo's" donated take-home containers and hairnets
- "Fortino" donated take-home containers and paper cups.
EFT School Council funded the purchase of meat and any other items needed.
The dinner was served by a very energetic group of EFT students from the EFT Me to We Club. As well, we had many of our teachers present to help organize the students. Diners were also treated to entertainment provided by many of our very talented students.
As a parting gift, EFT donated 2 x ceramic griddles and an electric can opener to the KSM kitchen.
